Hiroshige's 36 Views of Mt. Fuji - In Japan, Mt. Fuji is a sacred place and a symbol of the country itself. Hiroshige’s wonderful Fuji series shows the mountain in all seasons and from various vantage points. From the urban city center of Edo to small village cherry blossom viewing to the fantastic crashing wave at Awa, Fuji always appears serene and unmoved, despite the beauty and activity around. This series is without question one of Hiroshige’s great masterworks and the prints from are highly sought after by collectors.
Sukiyagashi in the Eastern Capital - Wonderful Edo scene in wintertime. The rooftops of small houses, a fisherman's canal and Fuji rising in the distance all covered in a fresh winter snow. Fantastic Hiroshige snow scene.
This Meiji reprint series- This print is from a particularly beautiful set of Meiji reprints of Hiroshige’s Fuji series. The printing quality and colors are especially nice and are very close to Hiroshige’s Edo era originals. Reprints from Hiroshige’s 36 Fuji are uncommon. Reprints of this quality are rare.
