Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Reprint
Beauty Tending a Brazier

Comments - Interesting design of a beauty tending a small brazier enclosed in a wooden framework. She lifts a sliding panel to gain access to the coals inside, kneeling on an elegantly patterned bed. The inset at upper left shows Rajin, the Thunder God, peering from dark clouds, his drum resting on a cloud below. Lovely detail and soft color, with fine shading in the background. A rare subject to find in reprint.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at top edge from original publisher mounting. Slight toning and spotting, creasing at right edge. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
