Two Ducks and Reeds by Ohara Koson (Shoson) (1877 - 1945)

Original Ohara Koson (Shoson) (1877 - 1945) Japanese Woodblock Print
Two Ducks and Reeds

Comments - Handsomest scene of two ducks near some reeds. The drake is just taking flight, its neck forward and wings outstretched in mid-air. Ripples gently spread across the water, the hen floating beneath the plants at right. The feathers are intricately detailed, creating an attractive contrast with the calligraphic line work in the birds.

Signed - Koson, with red artist's seal "Koson"

Artist - Ohara Koson (Shoson) (1877 - 1945)

Image Size - 13 1/2" x 7" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight toning and spotting. Stamped "Made in Japan" on reverse. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
